2000 has been declared “The International year in math” and this was an opportunity to young people become sensitive in applying Math in every day life.
Math can be found in all scientific fields.
From sunflower to medicine, from stock market fluctuations to tornadoes, Math shows and demonstrates their unitary character in nature’s functionality.
Math contributes every day to comprehending the Universe, even better than any instrument or a mutual language used for all the cultures.
With the help of documentaries people find the opportunity to learn more about the inspiration sources for the mathematicians, for more than 2000 years: music and figures for the Pythagoreans, gambling in the 17th century, crystals, soap bubbles in the 19th century and the fractals which appeared in Math at the end of the 19th century. These are considered to be “pathological” shocking and highly artificial counter-examples, and nowadays they allow us to study and describe things as various as the mountainous relief forms, hydrographic basins, ferns, stocking exchange course and chaotic systems.
Water is the “HEART OF THE BIOSPHERE”…
Unfortunately WATER can be pollute…
The environment where we live and we should be responsible in wich way we take care in this matter because it also influences us.
Our Romanian questionnaire had the purpose:
To find out in which way each of our students and their family contributed at the pollution of the water, by using cleaning substances.
We used MATH to calculate how many chemicals are overflow with the residual water
The main idea was to make our students responsible for the environment and the dangers that menace, who threaten the environment of the 21-century…

The level of damage varies from sea to sea. () There are 35 major seas in the world .
Each of these carries different wounds. One, the Black Sea is a microcosm of them all.
In the last 20 years, the Black Sea has turned from a very prosperous and productive area into one of the most polluted seas. The fish population has been declining considerably and tourism has been greatly affected.
The Danube delivers much of the fertilizer runoff, detergent waste and human sewage produced by the 81 million people in the central and Eastern European drainage basin.
Each year, it dumps an estimated 60 000 tons of phosphorus and 340 000 tons of inorganic nitrogen on the waters of the Black Sea.
The biological decline of the Black sea consists of the algae and bacteria, which made the water anoxic. Today 90 percent of the volume of the Black Sea is anoxic.
The Black Sea is essentially condemned to death. Some scientist say it has 10 to 15 years to live, others give it 40 years. Most fishermen and tourists say it is already dead.”
